53The built-in help

The platform carries its own help, in three places: the "Aide" (Help) menu, the last entry of the left-hand menu; the green "On vous explique ?" (Need an explanation?) button, at the top of every page; and, in the editor, a video tutorial for each event type.

The FAQ page

The "FAQ" page carries the subtitle "Trouvez rapidement des réponses à vos questions" (Find quick answers to your questions). On the left, the "Rubriques" (Topics) column lists sixteen topics, each with its icon, its colour and its number of questions; only one topic shows at a time. On a narrow screen, this column becomes a row of pills. Each question is an expandable card: one click opens the answer, a second closes it. The topics fall into these groups:

• Around the story: "Story", "Éditeur de story" (Story editor), "Évènements" (Events), "Quiz et questionnaires" (Quizzes and question sets), "Réalité mixte" (Mixed reality), "Publication et partage" (Publishing and sharing), "Traduction et langues" (Translation and languages), "Modèles" (Templates).
• Around media and tracking: "Bibliothèque" (Library), "Rapports et statistiques" (Reports and statistics), "Portfolio", "IA et voix de synthèse" (AI and synthetic voices).
• Around hardware and the account: "Mes appareils" (My devices), "Utilisateurs" (Users), "Organisation" (Organisation), "Compte et abonnement" (Account and subscription).

The "Rechercher dans la FAQ..." (Search the FAQ...) field goes through all topics at once. The questions found show expanded, the searched word highlighted, and a counter gives the number of questions found, or "Aucun résultat trouvé" (No results found). The counters in the column then switch to the number of questions found in each topic. Picking a topic clears the search.

The FAQ follows the interface language, and quotes labels as they appear on screen. At the bottom of the column, under "Vous n'avez pas trouvé la réponse à votre question ?" (Didn't find the answer to your question?), the "Contacter le support" (Contact support) button puts you in touch with the team.

The "On vous explique ?" button

This green button sits at the top right of every page, except in the editor. It opens, in a new tab, the booking page for an appointment with an expert from the team, to discover the features of the solution. On a very small screen, only its phone icon remains.

The event video tutorials

Each event type has its short help video, in the editor's language; a language that does not have its video yet shows the French version. You open it with a question-mark icon (tooltip "Voir le tutoriel vidéo" (Watch the video tutorial)), in two places: next to each tile of the "Ajouter un évènement" (Add an event) panel, and in the header of an open event form.

Clicking the tile creates the event, clicking the icon opens the video, under the heading "Tutoriel vidéo" (Video tutorial); playback starts by itself. The quick-access buttons of the "Favoris" (Favourites) row do not have this icon: for those, go through the form. In this wiki, the same video sits under each event's entry: see the event catalogue.

54Compatibility by app

A story does not play identically everywhere: the web browser, the headsets, the tablet and the kiosk do not all offer the same functions. The platform keeps the table up to date in the "Aide" > "Compatibilité" (Help > Compatibility) menu. It is the page to check before building a story around an event or an option, once you know which device it will be played on.

Reading the table

The page is titled "Compatibilité des fonctionnalités" (Feature compatibility), with the subtitle "Ce que chaque application sait jouer : web, casques, tablette et kiosque" (What each app can play: web, headsets, tablet and kiosk). It shows one table per section. Each row is a feature of your stories, each column an app:

In each cell, a coloured icon gives one of four levels: "Pris en charge" (Supported), "Avec une limite" (With a limitation), "Non pris en charge" (Not supported) or "Sans objet" (Not applicable: the feature makes no sense on that app). When there is a limitation, a note placed under the feature name explains it, app by app. Read those notes: "Avec une limite" can mean a detail as well as a real gap.

Searching and filtering

• Sections: the "Rubriques" (Sections) column, on the left, offers six, each with its number of rows: "Évènements" (Events), "Options des évènements" (Event options), "Scènes et médias" (Scenes and media), "Story", "Réalité mixte" (Mixed reality) and "Appareils et suivi" (Devices and tracking).
• Search: the "Rechercher une fonctionnalité" (Search for a feature) field looks in the feature names and in the notes as well.
• A single app: a row of pills, "Toutes" (All) then the five apps, shows only the chosen column. A second click on the pill releases the filter.
• "Limites seulement" (Limitations only): this switch keeps only the rows where something is missing. Combined with one app, it gives the list of what to avoid or test for that device.

The gaps that matter

Everything else plays everywhere without reservation, and that is the bulk of it: the Audio, Image, Texte, Vidéo, Diaporama, Vers une autre scène, Consigne, Question à choix, Debriefing, Bonus/Malus, Objet, Zone d'intérêt, Sélection de la langue, Modifier une variable and Pause de la vidéo de scène events; 360 images, a scene's duration and loop, ambient audio, languages and translated media, the story fonts.
