A next-generation training center

On September 4, 2023, the CFMA (Centre de Formation aux Metiers de l'Agroalimentaire — Agri-Food Trades Training Center) inaugurated its new building in Lamballe-Armor, in the presence of over 200 people. This training center, located at 9 rue d'Armor in Maroue, was designed as a place for exchange and sharing, with varied spaces adapted to different learning methods.

Among the innovations deployed for this new term: virtual reality headsets integrated into the welcome and safety training pathway, developed with explorations360.

VR at the heart of industrial onboarding

The CFMA, backed by the Cooperl group, welcomes hundreds of temporary workers each year to its agri-food production sites. The challenge: training them quickly on safety procedures in a high-risk environment (machinery, noise, chemicals, cold), with an often non-French-speaking workforce.

The solution: an immersive 360° VR journey created on the easystory360 platform, which guides each newcomer from the parking lot to their workstation. The journey covers:

  • Traffic flow and right-of-way rules within the building
  • Identification of hazardous zones
  • Safety instructions specific to each workstation
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Evacuation procedures and emergency protocols

9 languages for an international workforce

One of the major strengths of the system: the native multilingual capability of easystory360. The journey is available in 9 languages, allowing each temporary worker to complete the training in their native language, without an interpreter and without delay. A direct response to the needs of an international workforce operating on production lines.

A model for agri-food training

The CFMA's "Safety in Agri-Food Industry" training combines theoretical content, real-world examples, and VR immersion in just 1 hour. With a satisfaction rating of 9.4/10, the system proves that virtual reality is not a gimmick but an effective educational tool, particularly suited to demanding industrial environments.

This project perfectly illustrates how 360° VR can transform onboarding and safety in professional settings — a topic that Le Village by CA Cotes d'Armor also highlighted in a dedicated article about our approach.
